Apple AirPods Pro 3

Hey guys…. Time for a little more Tech Talk w/TK!!!

Alright, as my wife can attest, I have a lot of earbuds. Some might even say I have a bit of a problem. So when Apple keeps releasing new AirPods, I keep buying them. I’ve been through almost the whole lineup at this point — the original regular AirPods, the AirPods Pro, the AirPods Pro 2 — and now the AirPods Pro 3. After living with the 3’s for a while, I have to say, my experience has been awesome. Here’s a quick summary of my findings.

The Good:

  • Bass for days. As a self-described bass-head, this is the first thing I noticed. The low end on the Pro 3 has noticeably more punch than its predecessors. Now, it’s not going to compete with a big pair of over-ear headphones, but for earbuds? It hits harder than anything I’ve tried in this size. I really like it.
  • Great sound quality overall. Beyond the bass, everything just sounds clean. And call quality has been great too — people on the other end hear me clearly without me sounding like I’m in a tunnel.
  • Everything just works with my iPhone 16 Pro. Pairing is quick, switching between devices is seamless, and I never have to fiddle with reconnecting. It just kind of works, every time. I’m upgrading to the 18 Pro in November — should I go Pro or Pro Max? Let me know what you think in the comments.
  • Pulls double duty at work. I use them with my MacBook during the workday too, and hopping between my phone and laptop is painless. For my day-to-day, they’re the pair I reach for.
  • The leather case + Comply combo. I picked up a Maogoam genuine leather case for the charging case, and coupled with Comply foam ear tips, the whole setup is a really comfortable fit with solid noise reduction — plus the case protects against drops and scratches. One note: I don’t stick it on with the adhesive stickers that come inside; it fits snug enough on its own.

The Not So Good:

  • Louder environments are a stretch. For everyday use the noise canceling is fine, but in really loud environments I find myself wanting more. I might be switching to something new with better noise canceling for those situations… teaser for a future post.
